some ointment, of egg whites and oil on my burns. The gauze cut into myburns as time passed, so it gave me awful pains when they tried to strip it off.I still remember that pain and will never forget it.My consciousness was regained in mid-October. Then as the days wentby, the burned parts of my body began to heal little by little. After beingbombed, the left side of my face and my neck were cramped because of thekeloid, and I couldn’t stop drooling from my mouth. I also couldn’t straightenmy arms due to severe keloids.During summer vacation in 1948 I had skin graft surgery, skin from mycrotch was transplanted to my hands and the skin of chest to my face in theRed Cross Hospital. I was discharged in early October. Around the year 1955,I was admitted to Hiroshima University Hospital for about 6 months again, and I had plastic surgery on my face, ears, and arms. This time I had fouroperations. Some years later, around 1959, I attended a meeting of formermobilized students. At which I met Ms. Teramae, Ms. Muranaka, Ms.Kanemitsu, Ms. Nukushina, and other members. They had been workingvery hard for the relief of former mobilized student victims. I was extremelysurprised at how many former sacrificed students there were! I quicklyjoined them and worked hard with them to make this organization. And thenwe went to Tokyo to petition to the diet members.Even now, 50 years later, I have been attacked by a languor of my body, unexplained severe vertigo and I still lose consciousness several times a year.I have been suffering from facial neuralgia and I go to the hospital regularly.Every day, I feel like my body isn’t my own. I wish more than anything that Icould have a healthy body.Born on the 15th of January, 1933Bombed in the freshman of Hiroshima Prefectural HiroshimaCommercial School
