概要

eigo13

We went across the Ohta River by boat in order to go to Nishimoto’shouse, which was in Yasufuruichi. We stayed in his house. The color ofHiroshima’s sky was cardinal red because of fire disaster. Nishihara’s familymembers were worried because their father hadn’t come back yet after goingto the center of Hiroshima City. I felt sorry when I heard later that he wasdead. The next morning, we went to Furuichi Elementary School that wastemporally used as dispensary. Those who were injured and sleeping filled alecture hall. There were people crying out from pain, others crying for water, and some who were already dead. I lined up beside those people and waitedto have the crushing blister on my foot treated so that I may walk properlyonce again.I went to Yokogawa from Furuichi and passed by Teramachi andDobashi-cho alongside the railroad track. I said goodbye with Ishitani there. After that, I went to my burnt house and then to another house in Koichou. There, I found all my family members were all right. The entire town of Teramachi, was burnt down. I walked through thetown, seeing numerous dead bodies along the way. Inside a burnt andcharred train, there was a dead body that remained sitting. In a waterproofartificial ditch, there lay a charred body. There was a dead body opening itsarms and legs. I assume that they had been in great pain. This is a memorythat I don’t want to recall ever again.
